In conjunction with the Laborers’ New England Region Organizing Fund, NELLMCT staff created marketing materials geared towards the recruitment of members and non-union contractors. The general theme of these marketing materials is to present our union in a clear and concise fashion in order for the information to be consumed quickly and efficiently by the reader and potential new member/ signatory contractor.
In an effort to create materials that were organic and true to form of who we are as a union, NELLMCT staff conducted photoshoots at multiple Northern New England LIUNA jobsites, thereby capturing our members in their essence. Through collaborative efforts, we identified areas that the marketing pieces should focus on, such as:
• WHAT IS LIUNA?
• WHAT ARE THE TRI-FUNDS?
• WHY ARE DUES NECESSARY?
• WHAT DO LABORERS DO?
• QUESTIONS COMMONLY ASKED BY CONTRACTORS
• WHAT IS COLLECTIVE BARGAINING?
These marketing pieces can be used interchangeably or on their own in order to appeal to the consumer based on the potential needs of that member and/or signatory contractor.
As we continue to create additional pieces that will spotlight specific union projects, members and issues facing Laborers, these marketing materials will serve as the template for the marketing needs of other locals throughout New England for years to come.
